WorldPride Madrid 2017

Whoever you love, Madrid loves you” This was the motto chosen for the WorldPride 2017.

 Coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the first Pride protest in Spain, Madrid became this year’s WorldPride host, the most important event for the LGBT Community. So, I felt compelled to stay in the city and experience myself what was going on during those days. In addition, it happened to be the 30th anniversary of the first celebrations held in the neighborhood of Chueca.

Baby Jumping Festival, Castrillo de Murcia -Burgos-


The Baby Jumping is the popular name by which the Spanish festival of “El Colacho” is internationally known. It is held in Castrillo de Murcia, Burgos province, as part of the Corpus Christi celebrations (from Wednesday before Corpus until the following Monday). 14-18 June 2017

The “Móndidas”, San Pedro Manrique -Soria-

The Day of the ‘Móndidas’ is the day of Saint John although the celebrations begin the day before.

A little bit of history

Firewalking at Saint John´s Festival, San Pedro Manrique -Soria-

Two different celebrations take place during the Festival of Saint John in San Pedro Manrique, Soria. The famous ‘Paso del Fuego’ (Firewalking) on the eve of Saint John and that known as  ‘Las Móndidas‘, on the 24 th of June. Both of these festivals have been declared of National Tourist and Cultural Interest.
