It was something pending on my list and I did not want to wait any longer. As the Carnival of Cádiz is one of the most famous in Spain, I had to go there and explore the entire city to experience all that was going on during Carnival.
Unlike most carnivals, focus on the showiness of the costumes, the imaginative attire is which people in Cádiz give more importance to. However, the main attraction of this carnival is the criticism, parody, and sarcasm involving the city during these days.
Although a lot of ‘Fiestas del Pulpo’ take place throughout Galicia, the Octopus Festival of O Carballiño is one of the most remarkable gastronomic events of this province, therefore thousands of people come together each year to the village to enjoy the fest. ROSE OF SAFFRON IN CONSUEGRA -OCTOBER-
This valuable flower, the Saffron, is cultivated in La Mancha Region. The town of Consuegra holds a festival during the last weekend of October, coinciding with the harvest of the flower. It is known as Rose of Saffron Fair.
Potes, a beautiful medieval town located at the foot of the Picos de Europa, is the setting for the Orujo Festival -moonshine-, which takes place every second weekend of November.
