In honour of Saint Mary Magdalene, the Whirling Stilt Dancers festival is celebrated in July. Although the main day is the 22nd, this “fiesta” last three days.
Besides, the Stilt Dancers appear again in May and September.
International Festival of the Celtic World, Ortigueira
This year was the XXX Festival of the Celtic World which takes place in Ortigueira, La Coruña. Pipe bands from several countries during the day and Celtic and rock-music groups at night time played during the four days of the event. Some of them are of international renown, such as the Irish group The Chieftains. We were able to enjoy their concert as the main feature of typical Irish Dance.

Sanfermines, Pamplona -Navarra-
‘Sanfermines’ is, probably, the most crowded and wellknown festival of Spain. Iit is not only the eight exciting runnings which take place at 08:00 am every morning, but also the party atmosphere in every corner of the city that attract thousands of visitors. Of course was declared of International Tourist Interest.
Cider Festival, Nava
Cider is the typical local drink in Asturias. This year, on the second weekend of July, as usual, Nava has celebrated its XXXVII Cider Festival. Contests looking for the best local “escanciadores” (pourers) and awards to the best brews take place during the two days of the festival.
