The Festival of Carthaginians and Romans is held in the city of Cartagena, located on the Spanish southeastern coast.
In the second fortnight of September, important events that happened more than 2000 years ago are re-enacted.

“Curro de Candaoso” or ‘Rapa Das Bestas’ of San Andrés de Boimente takes place on the first Sunday in July. During the early hours and after the traditional breakfast of garlic soup, the horsemen round up the semi-feral horses living on the mountain and lead them to the ‘curro’ (corral), where the spectacle begins around eleven am. A mock military coup takes place in Ibi, Valencia region.
“Els Enfarinats”, in mock military dress and with their faces painted with colours, take over the streets. Armed with flour, eggs and firecrackers battle against the Opposition.
The International Medieval Battle is celebrated at the foot of the 15th century castle of Belmonte.
This tournament has its origins in The Battle of the Nations, first held in 2009, in Kharkiv, Ukraine. In 2014, the Medieval battle world Championship took place in this village of the province of Cuenca. Since then, an International Tournament is celebrated here.
